Main Point's:
- Hurricanes cyclones and typhoons form during the late summer in and around the tropics.
- Surface winds spiral inward, where they pick up heat and moisture from the balmy ocean surface.
- This warm, moist air rises and cools, allowing the water vapor to condense into thunderous clouds.
- The atmosphere does not determine the weather by itself, it has a pattern which is the ocean.
- An example would be the "El Nino", which has helped increase awareness of many unusual events.
- Some connections between the ocean and the atmosphere can influence and dominate changes in the weather, and long term climate everywhere.
- The ocean is the engine that drives seasonal shifts in weather, such as monsoons, sporadic events such as El Nino.
- Some of the most familiar weather systems occur at the middle latitudes, the sea near the equator is especially warm due to the solar heating is generally most intense.
- The ocean and atmosphere work together like a planetary thermostat, sharing equally the task of exporting heat from equatorial regions towards poles.
- Rotation of earth deflects air masses into ribbons of air that spiral around the globe, westward in polar and equatorial regions and eastward in the midlatitudes.
- The pattern inhibits a clean transfer of heat between north and south. Cold and warm air masses collide in midlatitudes causing powerful storms. In the storms, warm air rises up and over the incursion of cold, denser air.
- Air releases large amounts of latent heat. Copious amounts of heat, along with moisture and wind energy flow across borders between air masses.
- Over 4 to 6 day period, the stormy boundary drifts from west to east, producing rain that falls at midlatitudes.
- Hurricanes form in places where ocean surface temp exceeds 27 degrees Celcius.
- They are develops from original eddy in wind that causes low-pressure center to form.
- Temperature at the surface of the sea becomes critical factor.
- The exceptional warmth of the tropical ocean boosts amount of evaporation, allowing converging winds to pick up more moisture and release more latent heat.
- This intensifies the tempest of the storm.
Author's Points:
The author point of publishing this article is to get a better understanding of the ocean, and to able to forecast climate changes from year to year or even from one decade to the next. WE might be able to predict shifts in the frequency, duration or severity of hurricanes, monsoons and El Nino in the face of global warming. Also, to give us a ahead information so if this disasters comes in years we are prepared and know what's coming for us. Specially the author wants to get the facts of why are this happening and forming. Furthermore, this kind of articles should be given to the farmers or places that are mostly affected by this kind of disaster so they can know what to do.

My thoughts:
After reading this article, just thinking of all this environment disaster is really scary. Not only that it can destroy everything of what we have. So, I'm really thankful for the authors that is publishing this kind of story's or most of them are facts of weathers that forms in the ocean. I know I hardly experience this type of disaster but I'm still aware because it can happen at no time. I also learned that we should stuff polluting our ocean because that's add up more to the pollution which can also be bad.

So what?
Be aware of the ocean weather disasters because it can be really harmful.
Say Who?
Chris Dolce
What if?
If pollution can be less? Then most of this natural disaster wouldn't harm us because their aren't pollution that is mixed which can lead into weaker disaster.
What this remind me of?
The day after tomorrow (movie that can be related to this topic.)
